ESSIbuy.com, Inc. was launched in 2001 in response to the Transformation in Military logistics. ESSIbuy was charged with providing the warfighter and our commercial customers with a “one stop logistics shop” supporting more than 150 different products.

To accomplish this mission, ESSIbuy uses state-of-the-art technology and Web-based systems that integrate the supply chain, logistics services and purchasing systems with our electronic Logistics Support (eLS), Conditioned-Based Maintenance System and Health Management Systems. Technology Services is a core competency that supports this vision.

Using the World Wide Web permits warfighters deployed throughout the world to access ESSIbuy’s automated purchasing systems and our extensive supply chain. What this means to our customer is a streamlined purchasing process that allows for the rapid sourcing of parts and products, automated quoting and acquisition processes, time definite delivery and on-line status and tracking. The Web-store also allows our customers to purchase a wide range of other logistics services including field maintenance, training and factory repairs and return.

electronic Logistics Support (eLS)

Another key Technology Service is ESSIbuy’s eLS system. The ESSIbuy electronic Logistics Support (eLS) system is a web-based, dedicated program offering maintenance transaction data collection, trouble ticket creation, preventative maintenance scheduling and custom reporting, in one neat package, tailorable to each customer’s unique needs.

The eLS system was designed, and is supported, maintained and secured by ESSIbuy’s staff of software developers. The foundation of the eLS system is a relational database that captures pertinent maintenance information and tracks parts usage by end-item serial number. Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM)
WebTM™

ESSIbuy.com’s Web-based Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) is the technology around which we have designed our Conditioned-Based Maintenance System and System Health Management capabilities. The result of a long history in the design, development and manufacture of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) is a low-cost solution for the conversion of a complete family of legacy technical manuals or the creation of new manuals into fully hyperlinked IETMs, WebTM™ [ More ].

The IETM can be linked to diagnostic, prognostic and RFID/UID sensors embedded in a vehicle, either through a data bus or by RF. Information collected from the sensors directs the operator or maintainer to the appropriate operating, troubleshooting or repair procedure and related illustrations and parts manuals for a unique serial numbered system.

ESSIbuy.com also hosts selected IETMs and Parts Manuals for various products on its Web site. ESSIbuy.com’s IETM can integrate full-motion video, graphic animations, audio, 3-D engineering drawings and color-coded intelligent graphics with the IETM.

Diagnostics and Prognostics –

ESSIbuy can integrate D & P sensors embedded in a system with its IETM technology which provides data tracking and logging of faults, maintenance requirements and changes in system condition, e.g., miles, operating hours, among others. This integrated system provides the Warfighter direct access by linking the D&P data with the appropriate maintenance and troubleshooting procedures as well as parts information for a specific serial numbered system through the ESSIbuy Conditioned-Based Maintenance System.

RFID/UID –

ESSIbuy’s IETM can also interrogate RFID and UID tags embedded in systems, and extract and display pertinent data into our Conditioned-Based Maintenance System, allowing Warfighters to efficiently track and log critical logistics information and configuration management data.

Health Management Systems –

ESSIbuy has developed a software capability that acts as middleware between the IETM and a sensor suite imbedded on a given vehicle or piece of equipment. The program actively interrogates sensor data and displays it in a user friendly format. Real time data readings such as mileage, oil pressure, hydraulic pressure and more, depending on the sensor suite, are displayed as measurements to the user. If these measurements correlate with a fault code, or maintenance action, the software displays the triggered fault or maintenance item and allows the user to simply link directly to the desired corrective action within the IETM.
