Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) Technology

ESSIbuy’s IETM technology is central to a number of programs that need logistics systems and supply chain management integrated into their processes. Several notable examples are:

PM-LAV

The United States Marine Corps’ Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) fleet is utilizing ESSIbuy’s IETM technology (WebTM™) to support its operations, troubleshooting, maintenance, and parts identification and ordering requirements. The 56 different technical and parts manuals covering six different weapon system variants, including Rebuild Standards, Lubrication Instructions, Parts Manuals, Operator/Organizational/Intermediate Maintenance manuals have been completely hyperlinked allowing the Warfighter to easily access and navigate the complete family of TMs by simply pointing and clicking on links.

The IETM can also be tied to system diagnostics via RF or by hard connection to a system’s data bus. The faults, maintenance actions or changes in the health status of the vehicle are captured and communicated to the operator or maintenance technician through the ESSIbuy Condition-Based Maintenance System hosted on the User’s PC. By simply pointing and clicking on the fault, the appropriate part of the manual associated with the specific serial numbered configuration is accessed, facilitating the repair procedure. Appropriate parts can be identified and automatically requisitioned and the entire file can be transmitted to the LAV PM’s Web-based Portal. If desired, the Warfighter can easily print a complete manual or any portion of it down to a specific paragraph.

electronic Logistics Support (eLS)

Managing maintenance and repair logs has just stepped into the 21st Century. ESSIbuy has created a dedicated, customizable on-line Portal for service and repair technicians called eLS (electronic Logistics Support (eLS)).

The ESSIbuy eLS system provides a cost-effective, Web-enabled, data logging system unencumbered by the need for ‘pen-and-ink’ record keeping or separate file transfers. All data entry is electronic. The eLS system provides cost-effective access to the entire maintenance activity so customers will be able to query their required information in real time. Administration of the queries, deliverables and report development is provided by ESSIbuy.com.
