Technical Manuals
ESSI’s Technical Documentation group has experience providing
technical manuals and data covering operation and maintenance for
a variety of equipment to satisfy the requirements of the U.S. Army,
Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps, as well as foreign customers.
Technical writers develop plans and schedules, select and acquire
source data, validate the data, develop operation and maintenance
manual content, incorporate technical and customer review changes,
and coordinate technical manual tasks at all phases of the program
with customer representatives.
Illustrations
The
Illustration Group acquires illustration source data, coordinates
the type of illustrations to be prepared, and develops the required
technical illustrations or illustration changes. Tools used include
Pro-E Model Source Data which results in minimal redrawing for greater
efficiency. We also offer Raster and Vector outputs and Animated Model
preparation. Video can be incorporated through hyperlinks, if needed.
The capabilities of the publications group range from generation
of commercial-grade manuals, military specification paper-based or
portable document format (PDF) technical manuals, to creation of fully Interactive
Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM). The IETM capability
ranges from basic electronically hyperlinked renditions of paper manuals,
to manuals containing diagnostics, prognostics and fleet support back-end
connectivity. This group has produced IETMs using the latest standards
for extensible markup language (XML) based manuals.
